Net als vorig jaar gaan we ook dit jaar weer net voor de zomervakantie een NLNOG event organiseren. Vorig jaar hebben we voor het eerst de combinatie gemaakt van een aantal presentaties omtrent één thema (toen: Labs) met een aansluitend een borrel en barbecue. Dat concept beviel ons en velen van jullie erg goed, dus dat zetten we dit jaar voort. Natuurlijk dan wel met een ander thema, en dit jaar is gekozen voor ‘(netwerk)security’

We hebben de volgende sprekers bereid gevonden om hun kennis en ervaring te gaan delen:

• Simon Kuhn (NBIP/Nawas) zal vertellen over zijn ervaringen met het beschermen van hun eigen infrastructuur tegen DDoS-aanvallen, en welke oplossingen die zij gevonden hebben ook door anderen toegepast kunnen worden
• Babak Farrokhi zal vertellen over de door hem ontwikkelde tool DNSDiag en technieken om DNS-verkeer te analyseren
• Barend Frans (Politie Amsterdam) presenteert over de samenwerking tussen ISPs/hosters, het Openbaar Ministerie en de politie

Het event zal plaatsvinden op vrijdagmiddag 28 juni in BIT-MeetMe in Ede. Je bent welkom vanaf 14.00 uur, om 15.00u beginnen de presentaties. Toegang voor het event is kosteloos, maar registreren is wel nodig. Dat kan via deze pagina. Nieuw dit jaar is dat we geregeld hebben dat er ‘s middags een bus zal rijden van station Ede/Wageningen naar BIT-MeetMe, en ‘s avonds weer terug naar het station. Als je daar gebruikt van wilt maken kun je het aangeven bij je registratie.

Belangrijk om te weten (ook voor de presentatoren): we zullen géén livestream of opnames maken, zorg dus dat je er live bij bent!

Just like last year we’re planning to host a NLNOG summer event right before the summer holidays. Last year we combined a number of presentations on one theme (back then: Labs) with a drink and barbecue. Since we and many of you liked this concept a lot we have decided to do this again, this time with ‘(network)security’ as topic for the talks.

We can share a bit more about the presentations we have arranged for you. We’re excited that the following speakers will be sharing their knowledge and experiences with you:

• Simon Kuhn of NBIP/Nawas will be presenting on his experiences of protecting their infrastructure against DDoS-attacks, and how others can implement their lessons learned
• Babak Farrokhi will be presenting on the tool DNSDiag he developed and on techniques to analyse DNS traffic.
• Barend Frans (Politie Amsterdam) will be talking about the cooperation between ISP’s and hostels, the Public Prosecution Service, and the police.
• Karl Lovink (Tax Administration) will be presenting on the test which the Anti-DDoS Coalition does.

The event will be hosted on Friday, June 28th in the afternoon in BIT-MeetMe in Ede. Doors open at 14.00h, presentations will start at 15.00h. The event is free of charge, but registration is required. This can be done on this page. New this year is that we have arranged a bus service from Ede/Wageningen train station to BIT-MeetMe in the afternoon, and back to the train station in the evening. If you want to make use of this service, please indicate this on the registration form.

One last important note (also for presenters): we will not be providing a live stream or recordings, so make sure to join us in person!
